Hydrolysed dietary intervention may be beneficial for chronic vomiting and diarrhoea in cats

A new study, published in the latest issue of the Journal of Small Animal Practice (JSAP), showed that cats with chronic vomiting and/or diarrhoea of unknown cause, may benefit from a hydrolysed diet in the first instance, before resorting to antibiotic and/or glucocorticoid therapy.

Brexit: Pet travel update for OVs

From 1st January 2021 Great Britain (GB) will become a third country with respect to the EU Pet Travel Scheme and will have Part 2 listed status for the purposes of non-commercial pet travel. As a consequence, the requirements for pet travel between GB and the EU will change.

Avian Influenza: New housing measures for England, Scotland and Wales from 14th December

To control the spread of Avian Influenza, new housing measures will come into force on 14th December. These will mean that it will be a legal requirement for all bird keepers to keep their birds indoors and to follow strict biosecurity measures in order to limit the spread of and eradicate the disease.

New study links low cholesterol to mortality in canine and feline patients

A new study, published in the latest issue of the Journal of Small Animal Practice (JSAP), showed that hypocholesterolaemia is associated with mortality in cats and dogs and may be a negative prognostic indicator.
