Owners of canine golden oldies urgently needed to help with Old Age Pets project

Charitable research organisation PetSavers is appealing to owners of canine golden oldies to get involved with a new citizen science project, Old Age Pets, aimed at helping veterinary professionals and owners to provide the best care for their pets. Owners are being asked to provide a photo or video and a brief description that capture what it is like to live with and care for an older dog.

New Chair for WSAVA Vaccination Guidelines Group

Dr Richard Squires BVSc (Hons) PhD DVR Dipl. ACVIM Dipl. ECVIM-CA GCertEd, Associate Professor in Companion Animal Medicine, James Cook University, North Queensland, Australia, has been announced as the new Chair of the World Small Animal Veterinary Association’s (WSAVA’s) Vaccination Guidelines Group (VGG). He succeeds Emeritus Professor Michael J. Day, who chaired the VGG from 2009 until March 2020.

NAVC’s AFSCAN Scholarship Renamed to Honor Professor Michael J. Day

The North American Veterinary Community (NAVC) announced today it is honoring Emeritus Professor Michael Day, BSc, BVMS(Hons), PhD, DSc, Dr(hc), DECVP, FASM, FRCPath, FRCVS, and his contributions to veterinary medicine by renaming the annual Colin F. Burrows International African Small Companion Animal Network (AFSCAN) Scholarship the Michael J. Day AFSCAN Scholarship.
