Dragon to ignite proceedings at 30th BSAVA Congress

Dragon’s Den star Jenny Campbell has been announced as the Keynote Speaker for BSAVA Congress 2-5 April 2020. The British entrepreneur, known predominantly for her role as a Dragon on BBC’s Dragon’s Den, is the flagship for an exciting extended programme at this year’s Congress, celebrating the event’s 30th year at Birmingham.

BSAVA and BEVA donate £7,000 to support Australian wildfire veterinary care

The British Small Animal Veterinary Association and the British Equine Veterinary Association have made a donation of £7,000 to the Australian Veterinary Association Benevolent Fund to help assist the work of the veterinary profession who are dedicating their lives to the wellbeing of animals caught in the wildfires. Both Associations are also appealing to members to make donations.

BSAVA help vets and nurses prepare for changes to RCVS CPD requirements

9 January 2020

New annual CPD hourly targets have now come into force, replacing the previous system of a rolling 3 year requirement. From 1 January, veterinary surgeons will need to complete 35 hours of CPD a year, whilst veterinary nurses will have a 15 hour target.

PetSavers – PetSavers funds new canine ageing and wellbeing project

PetSavers has provided a Citizen Science research grant to support the development of a novel canine ageing and wellbeing tool to help veterinary professionals and pet owners work together to provide the best care to senior dogs. The grant has been awarded to Dr Carri Westgarth, a Lecturer in Human-Animal Interaction at the University of Liverpool, for her project entitled 'Using citizen science to develop a ‘Canine Ageing and Wellbeing’ tool for use in veterinary practice'.

Major veterinary players unite in commitment to evidence-based veterinary medicine
