BSAVA supports Kennel Club’s DNA genetic testing venture

The BSAVA welcomes the Kennel Club’s new venture to simplify the process of canine DNA health tests for dog breeders and help eradicate some health conditions inherited by certain breed types. The initiative was launched at the Game Fair on 26 July 2019.

Groundbreaking conference hailed a success

The University of Aberystwyth proved to be the ideal setting for the BSAVA’s Vets Cymru conference held on the 28-29 June 2019. The conference, spearheaded by the BSAVA Cymru/Wales Regional Committee working in conjunction with the Wales Veterinary Science Centre (WVSC), was the first event of its kind in Wales to offer both small and large animal CPD all under one roof.

Anti-microbial resistance central to BSAVA’s new Welsh seaside CPD event

Discussion sessions on large and small animal anti-microbial resistance will be central to BSAVA’s Vets Cymru, a new mixed practice CPD event to be held in Aberystwyth on 28 – 29 June 2019. The ‘think tank’ discussion sessions will be held twice daily on both days of the event to address the overriding concerns presented by this persistent veterinary conundrum.

Apply for the 2019 FECAVA Travel Scholarship

The FECAVA Travel Scholarship encourages small animal veterinarians to appreciate the differences in veterinary life within other European cultures. The initiative allows two groups of small animal veterinary surgeons from different parts of Europe, to visit each other for a few days to observe practice life and ideally participate in a joint Continuing Education event. Please note that applications can only be accepted from FECAVA member countries.

BSAVA’s PetSavers produces downloadable guides for dog owners

PetSavers, part of the British Small Animal Veterinary Association (BSAVA), has introduced a new series of canine-focused online, downloadable guides to provide pet owners with reliable additional advice if their dog has been diagnosed with a specific veterinary condition. The initiative is part of BSAVA’s commitment to promote excellence in small animal practice.
