Volunteering opportunities with BSAVA

Whilst the Association has a core of permanent staff based at its Headquarters in Gloucester, it could not function without its volunteer community. Volunteers help in all areas of the Association and at all levels, some taking on Trustee/Director roles as they progress. Scientists warn of seasonal increase of deadly rabbit disease

As part of SAVSNET’s on-going mission to develop real-time disease surveillance in small animals, researchers at the University of Liverpool are using big data and text mining methods to create a warning system for a devastating disease in pet rabbits and sheep. Millions of UK pets at risk of deadly diseases following dramatic decline in vaccinations

The BSAVA shares concerns over new findings in the seventh annual PDSA Animal Wellbeing (PAW) Report, which monitors pet welfare issues across the UK. Leading vet charity PDSA is warning that millions of UK dogs, cats and rabbits are at serious risk of deadly diseases as the number of owners vaccinating their pets has declined steeply.
