FECAVA Travel Scholarship deadline extended

3 May 2017

The deadline to apply for the FECAVA Travel Scholarship has been extended to 31st May 2017. The FECAVA Travel Scholarship is an initiative that enables groups of small animal veterinary surgeons from different parts of Europe, to visit each other for a few days and observe each other’s practice experience. The scholarship, totalling €2,000 per year, is made possible through the support of LABOKLIN, who partner FECAVA on this project.

Celebrating World Veterinary Day

World Veterinary Day is taking place globally on Saturday 29th April designed to highlight and promote the different facets of the work performed by veterinarians all over the world. Each year, a different topic is selected by the World Veterinary Association (WVA) and the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) which are behind this initiative. Update on Avian Influenza

Defra has announced that all poultry in England are to be allowed outside from Thursday 13 April 2017. However, all poultry keepers must continue to implement the enhanced bio-security measures introduced on 28th February. This includes minimising movement in and out of bird enclosures, cleaning footwear, keeping areas where birds live clean and tidy and feeding birds indoors.
