UK FECAVA Travel Scholarship winners visit Romania

The lucky UK recipients of the 2016 FECAVA Travel Scholarship, vets Alasdair Hotston Moore and Alex Gough, have returned from Romania as part of an exchange with two vets from Bucharest. Back in February, Justin Girea and Livia Dumitrescu from Bucharest, travelled to experience life at the veterinary practice in Bath where Alasdair and Alex work.

Pet passport – lamination sheet error – message from APHA

It has come to our attention that a number of the recently issued new style passports starting from serial number 860400 contain an error relating to the lamination aspect of page 6 – III Marking of Animal. The adhesive side of the lamination sheet has been added to the wrong side so if peeled back whilst still in the passport the adhesive side will be facing page 7.

WSAVA companion animal welfare survey

The WSAVA Animal Wellness & Welfare Committee (AWWC) is conducting a survey on the status of companion animal welfare globally. Information obtained will be used in development of animal welfare guidelines designed for the veterinary practitioner to use within the clinic setting & also aid in dealing with clients, the public & non-veterinary bodies.

BVA and BSAVA statement on brachycephalic breeds

Following recent calls urging veterinary surgeons and their professional associations to take action to address the health problems experienced by brachycephalic dog and cat breeds, the British Veterinary Association (BVA) and the British Small Animal Veterinary Association (BSAVA) have issued the following statement:
